Budding Flavours: London Cafe, Noida
I am always on a look out for finer things in life and when I heard about this quaint, cosy cafe in Noida, I could not stop myself from trying. And to my surprise, London Cafe has already become a favourite hot-spot amongst the students from the nearby colleges. But this is not just a student’s adda, it has something for all the age groups. If this has not impressed to put it on top of your stopover list, then read more to know about the restaurant.
The super-stylish and comfortable ambience of the restaurant reflects the passion with which it was started. Dim lighting, comfy high back sofas, colourful cushions and a long bar-table overlooking you from one of the corners gives the look and feel of a cafe straight from the streets of the London. To add to the warmth – paintings, lanterns, artificial flowers, vases and a wooden book shelf – spell their magic just like an icing on the cake.
My taste buds started salivating, the moment I heard that Chef Hitender Sharma has curated a special menu for the evening which will soon be a part of main menu.
The culinary sojourn started with their all-time favourite Java Coffee Blast. Sprinkled with coffee beans on the top, the creamy texture of the coffee was divine.
Next on the table came Potato and Cashew nut Croquettes and Arancini Di Risso. Soft from inside and crisp from outside, the croquettes melted in mouth soon after entering. It was served with Garlic Aioli which complimented the taste well. Arancini Di Risso stood to be the star dish for the evening. It was served in a fancy way with fried noodles at the bottom and beautiful risotto balls sitting on the top and was looking just like a nest with brown eggs. Arborio rice were stuffed with cheese and jalapeno and served with garlic dip. The chef revealed the fried noodles despite being a part of presentation is edible.
The main course comprised of a Cottage Cheese Steak. The outburst of flavours makes it a must try dish on the menu. Cottage cheese steak was stuffed with basil pesto and served with mashed potato and stir fried vegetables.
The meal was paired with two amazing mocktails – Dirty Slush and London Cafe Spice Surprise. Dirty Slush is a unique blend of crushed ice with lemon juice, sugar syrup, ginger aioli, blue curacao and grenadine syrup. The sweet and tangy taste of the drink was completely different from all the mocktails that I have tried till date. London Cafe Spice Surprise was blended exactly the way my taste buds were craving from a long time. It was mixture of guava juice, pineapple juice, orange juice and fresh green chillies.
Before I could say thanks to the chef for an amazing evening, he came with Chocolate Brownie with Vanilla Ice Cream. The aroma of the freshly baked brownie was mesmerizing and it tasted equally well. I must say it was a perfect way to round off my meal.
