Living a monotonous life does not excite me at all. I am always in search of something unusual. And this could be one reason why I love to do something unexpected that comes as a surprise to my family and friends. Everybody knows that I hate cooking as much as love eating. This time I surprised my dear ones by cooking a special meal for them and guess what? I tried my hands on Japanese dishes this time. These recipes were shared by Chef Yutaka Saito of Simply Sushi. And my happiness doubled when the delicacies were relished by one and all equally and I received many compliments. Avocado Tartare

Ingredients
0.080 kg avocado
0.010 kg tomato
0.005 kg chopped onion
0.030 kg sushi rice
0.005 kg spicy mayonnaise
0.005 kg wasabi mayonnaise
0.005 kg bubu arare
0.001 kg micro green mustard
Salt and pepper to taste

Method

  • Make cake of rice and deep fry it.
  • Mix avocado, chopped onions, spicy mayonnaise, wasabi mayonnaise, salt and
  • Take a bowl and mix tomato with salt and pepper.
  • Put the mixture of avocado on rice cake and flatten it. Put a layer of tomato on it.
  • Garnish it with bubu arare and micro green.

Maguro Akami Tataki

Ingredients
0.050 kg spicy tuna mix
0.010 kg cucumber
0.002 kg sesame seeds
0.100 kg sushi rice
1 noori sheet
0.004 kg pickled ginger
0.004 ltr soy sauce
0.002 kg wasabi powder

Method

  • Place noori sheet length wise and spread rice evenly on it.
  • Turn it around and spread the mixture of tuna evenly on it.
  • Garnish it with cucumber, sesame seeds and soy sauce.
  • Roll it and serve it with pickled ginger and wasabi powder.

Veg California Roll

Ingredients
0.020 kg avocado
0.010 kg cucumber
0.010 kg carrot
0.005 kg veg mayonnaise
0.100 kg sushi rice
1 noori sheet
0.004 kg pickled ginger
0.004 ltr soy sauce
0.002 wasabi powder
0.001 sesame seeds

Method

  • Place noori sheet length wise on maki mat.
  • Spread sushi rice and sprinkle sesame seeds. Turn the rice down and place avocado, cucumber, carrot, soy sauce and veg mayonnaise on it.
  • Serve it with wasabi powder and pickled ginger.
