Just Introduced: Canteen Till I Die, Satya Niketan
Canteen is that memorable place of a student’s life where beautiful memories are weaved and cherished for entire life. What if you get a chance to relive that era again? Yes! You can revive those memories at a newly opened cafe-cum-restaurant located in Satya Niketan – Canteen Till I Die.
Raw and rustic walls, lots of mirrors and an open kitchen describes the beauty of Canteen Till I Die. Tables, books on the walls and other artefacts adorning the nooks and corners of the restaurant replicates the feeling of sitting in a college canteen.
Just a glance at menu and we bet you will be amazed to see a variety of dishes available at a pocket-friendly prices. We were welcomed with a Chocolate shot and a Mango shot (read: small portions of the shake). The thick and delicious chocolate shake resembled the taste of a chocolate ice-cream melted and served whereas mango shake was just a replica of a scrumptious shake made by mom.
We loved their Chandni Chowk to China – Chinese bhel made of crispy noodles, shredded veggies and chutneys. Even after second serving, this sweet and tangy dish left us asking for more. If you love to experiment, do try their Andhra Style Maggi whose taste is dominated by mint.
We also tried their Pesto Pasta which we found a bit dry despite having loads of cheese and basil. The star dish of the evening was Rainbow Mixed Pakodas – a best choice for rainy days ahead. These pakodas were made in potato and onion and fried in different coloured batters of gramflour.
Canteen Special Farm Pizza and Masala Falafal were also equally liked. The thin crust crispy pizza came loaded with lots of veggies and in Masala Falafel chickpea patty flavoured with Indian spices was garlic paprika aioli and homemade pita.
Their Antioxident Supreme Juice comes highly recommended. This slow pressed sweet blend of watermelon, beetroot and orange is a powerhouse packed with nutrients.
