Food Talk

As the name suggests, Piali serves over 40 varieties of curries from across the world. You choose your curry first and accordingly you will be served rice, roti, bread or naan as a side dish.

Mesmerised by the idea, we took a glance at the menu and were equally amazed to see an array of soups, salads, starters and desserts.

The culinary sojourn started with Corn Tempura – deep fried corn croquettes. These golden fried balls were a teaser of how delicious the entire journey is going to be. Next we tried Khumb Aur Singhade Ki Galouti and Dabeli. The Awadhi style kebabs were melting in mouth and potato stuffing bun sandwiches served with peanuts with chutney was equally scrumptious.

The poison for the evening was Pink Lady – a blend of watermelon and strawberry juice topped sugar. This drink is sweet enough to add sweetness to your life.

Then came the turn of the most-awaited thing on the table – curries. Bhutta Methi Malai and Dal Maash Lahori. Fragrant North Indian gravy recipe made of onion, sweet corn, fenugreek leaves, green peas and some spices was served with butter naan and the Lahori daal prepared with oodles of butter and cream fit for a king was accompanied with tandoori roti. Both the curries were cooked to the perfection and we will be soon visiting them to dig into them once again.

The super luxurious yet pocket-friendly meal was ended on a sweet note with Pineapple Halwa. And yes, it is a must try.
