Just Introduced: Bronies, Defence Colony

The new year is not even two months old but it has witness too many newly opened places – bars, restaurants and cafes. But there has been no place satisfying all the three needs under one roof.  Do you also think the same? Then my dear, you need to change your thinking as Bronies opened at Defence Colony is going to be THE place for satiating all your food and drink needs with a charming ambience.

Atmospherics

Just Introduced: Bronies, Defence Colony

The newly launched gastropub spans over three zones – lush green outdoors perfect for a romantic date; ground floor dedicated to a sprawling bar bank and a hanging projector where you get mesmerised with the beauty of rustic decor and if you are planning to spend some quality time with family and friends then head to their first floor where you are welcomed by bright red comfy sofas and jute cushions.

The bar (read bank) at Bronies is neatly stacked with alcohol and dotted with number plates showing owner’s love for cars. Did I mention they have a wood-fired oven in the outdoor area which churns out some amazing burgers and other meals.

Food Talk

Nostalgia grips once you take a glance at their old-school menu. Despite going by the trend and innovating new dishes, the men behind the kitchen have decided to revive the old taste by serving everything on a hot sizzling plate.

The digging session started with Burnt Tomato and Tortilla Soup which was served with a stone inside to keep it warm. I relished this thick and creamy soup while nibbling on Chilli Cheese Croquettes which were oozing out cheese and Brinjal Fries. I was sceptic about trying them as it was the first time I was experimenting with the brinjals but the soft melt-in-mouth fires were impressive.

The dish which left me asking for more was their Desi Chakhna. It was extremely palatable. Even after taking two servings, there was an urge to have more. It was a mixture of Moong Dal Sprout, Green Chillies, Onion, Coriander, Masala Peanuts with leon juice drizzled on it. Next on the table came The Cool Russian In A Jar. The fancy name given to the old-style Russian Salad was served in a jar. The crispy and crunchy salad was low on spices.

I opted for Thai Red Curry with Rice for the mains. The flavourful curry was cooked in an authentic Thai way and was full of flavours. I paired my meal with their Signature Cocktail Peach Buzz. The creamy cocktail was a refreshing mix of vodka, peach schnapps, peach juice and full cream.

The meal was rounded up with all-time favourite Baked Alaska. It was dessert-porn moment when cake covered with ice-cream topped with meringue was served. The joy of eating it was incomparable.
